Tutor Young people often don't have much of a voice to speak for themselves. We are committed to raising the awareness of legislators and the public at large to the problems and suffering that young people face here in Alaska.

Upcoming Advocacy Events:

Youth Voice is currently preparing to send representatives to World Youth Day Toronto, July 18-28, 2002. To find out more about World Youth Day, visit the official website at www.wyd2002.org

Youth Voice:

Our Youth Voice group is the voice of active and concerned youth on issues affecting them whether in Anchorage or before state or national lawmakers. We encourage our youth to meet as concerned citizens, formulate a position and present that position to lawmakers.

Ask the Lawyer:

Every Tuesday at 5:30 pm the advocacy department, in cooperation with Alaska Legal Services, presents "Ask the Lawyer", an informational legal clinic for youth at the Youth Resource Center. (750 W. 5th Avenue on the corner of 5th Avenue and H Street)

This clinic is open to all youth in the Anchorage community. Alaska Legal Services addresses legal questions raised by youth on civil law topics such as landlord-tenant law, automobile sales, truth in lending, domestic relations, child support enforcement and child custody. Youth with questions or legal entanglements are encouraged to attend.
