Youth
Voice
Our Youth Voice group is the voice of active and concerned
youth on issues affecting them in Anchorage or before state
and national lawmakers. We encourage our youth to meet as
concerned citizens, formulate a position, and present that
position to lawmakers.
Legal
Street
Legal Street offers free legal information for our youth
on criminal and civil issues and is held on the 1st and
3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Youth Resource
Center. The CHA Advocacy department presents this free clinic
in collaboration with Alaska
Legal Services Corporation, Alaska
Native Justice Center, Office
of Public Advocacy, State
of Alaska Public Defender's Office, Department
of Juvenile Justice, State
of Alaska Child Support Enforcement Division and the
Disability Law Center.
Legal
Street is open to all youth in the Anchorage community and
addresses legal questions raised by youth on civil law topics
such as landlord-tenant law, automobile sales, truth in
lending, domestic relation, child support enforcement, and
child custody. Youth with questions or legal entanglements
are encouraged to attend.
