2008 Candlelight Vigil Thursday, November 20th 2008
The Vigil this year will take place at 609 F Street, between 6th & 7th Avenue at 6:00pm.
Candlelight Vigil
The annual Covenant House Alaska (CHA) Candlelight Vigil brings together local government and community leaders, students, civic organization members, concerned citizens and CHA staff, volunteers, donors and clients, who stand together with lit candles in the dark to raise awareness and show support for homeless youth.
The vigil, which is held each November in Anchorage's Town Square, coincides with Covenant House International's Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and the National Homeless Youth Awareness Month. Through these events, thousands of people across the nation rally in support of youth and to raise awareness about the difficulties and dangers homeless youth face in our communities.
