Here are some helpful resources for both parents and youth on topics like housing, health services and more. Check back often, as new resources are added continually.

• Covenant House Alaska (CHA): Contact CHA directly at (907) 272-1255 or call the Covenant House Nineline at 1-800-999-9999 to talk with someone who cares. CHA and Nineline services are free, and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
• Alaska Youth & Family Network: (AYFN): AYFN supports families with children and youth who have emotional/behavioral or neural-behavioral problems. Visit www.ayfn.org or stop by 740 Communications Avenue in Anchorage.
• Salvation Army's McKinnell House: McKinnell House is the only facility in Anchorage providing shelter for homeless, two-parent families or single parenting fathers. • Volunteers Of America: Volunteers of America is a national, nonprofit, faith-based organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. Through thousands of human service programs, including housing and health care, Volunteers of America helps more than 2 million people in over 400 communities in 44 states. • Office Of Children's Services (OCS): The division strives to accomplish its mission by focusing on four broad goals, including child safety, permanency for children, cultural continuity for children, and child and family well-being. • Utility Assistance: State of Alaska’s Heating Assistance Program
• Denali Kidcare: Provides health insurance coverage for Alaska children and teens through age 18, and for pregnant women who meet income guidelines. Visit Denail KidCare or call (907) 269-6529 (in Anchorage) or 1-888-318-8890 (outside Anchorage).
• Alaska Medicaid: Provides payment for medical services for low-income citizens. People qualify by meeting federal income and asset standards, and by fitting into a specified eligibility. Youth are eligible until their 21st birthday. Visit Medicaid.
• Premera Bule Cross/Blue Shield Of Alaska: Offers health insurance that may be purchased by individuals. Visit www.premera.com/ or call 1-888-669-2583.
• Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center: Provides health care services, including pre-natal care, to people on a sliding scale. Also accepts Medicaid, Denali KidCare and other health insurance. • Providence Alaska Family Medicine Center: Provides complete medical treatment with open access. Flexible payment plans and sliding fee scale available. • Municipality Of Anchorage Health Clinic: Provides reproductive health services, including pregnancy and STD testing, on a sliding fee scale. Also provides immunizations for youth under age 19. • Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program: Provides nutrition information, counseling and periodic health screening, along with supplemental food vouchers for infant formula and healthy foods to pregnant and breastfeeding women and their children from birth to age five. • AYPF/Power The Alaska Youth and Parent Foundation’s (AYPF) POWER (Peer Outreach Worker Education and Referral) Program is located on the 2nd floor of the downtown transit center. Services include youth peer support/referrals, food pantry, emancipation assistance and reproductive health services including HIV/STI and pregnancy testing and birth control.
